I am at a lost for words! This country is run by the stupidest people in it. What can I say? I'm moving to Canada. No I don't think so. I guess I just have to grin and bear it! But it hurts and it will hurt more if things continue the way they are going...

Rain! It rained yesterday and the day before that. It's raining on and off today. The forecast through Wednesday is R-A-I-N. I'm going to Dallas Monday morning. There it will be 90+ each day. I can't get a break!
I wish our elected officials would just stop their silly partisian games and take care of the country's business. Isn't that what we sent them there to do? They really are arrogant. The country was pissed at them when they couldn't do any thing with the debt ceiling and they continue to point fingers at each other. They created a Super Committee. Ha what a joke. Do you really think it will accomplish what it is charged with? Then Obama tells them to find another $500 billion to pay for his stupid jobs bill. He really is a dope.
And how about Solyndra? Big shot President goes there raving about the jobs they are creating and it goes belly up after he puts $500 million (half a billion) into them. What a waste of our money. Obama and his administration need to keep their mouths shut and wallets closed when it comes to the economy. Every time he opens his mouth the market dives and every time he opens OUR wallet we grow poorer!

It's been raining for 4 days straight now. I know how Noah felt! It came down so hard yesterday evening the street flooded because the storm drain couldn't handle the volume of water. We even had water enter the basement thru the walkout door because the drain couldn't handle it either. So we have a wet carpet!
The forecast is for more rain through today and chances over the weekend. We need to dry out. Too bad we can't bottle some of it and send it to Texas where they have a draught.

Today finds me in Salt Lake City for the week. I fly home Friday morning. This is an unusual town to say the least. It is laid out in a grid with the Temple being the center point. The streets are all North, South, East and West and number in the 100's. It does make it easy to get around once you get the hang of it.
Not much happening. The jokers still can't come to an agreement on raising the debt ceiling. So the stock market takes a hit and gold reaches $1,600 an ounce! Imagine that!
Congratulations to Darren Clarke on winning the British Open and too bad for the women's World Cup team. They played their hearts out and should have won but the Japanese did them in on penalty kicks. I watched it and couldn't believe it.

It's been almost a month since I've written in this blog! Shame, shame on me. I've got to do better. I will try.
A lot's happen! It's all about the debt ceiling. I don't know who to believe. Those that predict catastrophe if it isn't raised or those who say nothing will happen. I've got to believe nothing is not right.
I don't know the answer but I do have an opinion on how to reduce spending. The first thing to do is to look at foreign aid. We send billions to countries that hate us. Why? I'll tell you why! Because we are so stupid that Congress has to vote on spending money on foreign aid all at once. It doesn't go down the list of countries and say yes or no. Imagine that! How dumb is that? We could save billions by stop sending aid to a lot of country's. First on that list should be China! We actually send them aid and they own the largest part of our debt. How stupid is our government?
How can we increase revenue for an overbloated government? I got an opinion here too. I think all companies should pay a flat tax. You have oil companies that make billions in a quarter and pay no tax. That is crazy! Other companies are just as bad with all the subsidies they get. Stop it now and give them a flat tax. That will bring in billions.
Yes I'm a Republican but all corporations should pay taxes. I do! Why can't they? Stop some of those ridiculous executive perks and they will be able to pay taxes and not affect their bottom line.
Let's do this Congress! You can make it happen now!
